Hello friends!
It’s fashion week. everyone’s favorite week of the year. I personally attended 10 shows with out being invited to a single one. I have some great pictures of the Carolina Herrera show and the Monique Luillier show. I had a great time!

As for my love intrest lets say he had some “short” comings and definitly didn’t take no for an answer….

So…I may or many not have a new love intrest. Well for not its really really casual. Like really casual.

I don’t want to give away who he is incase maybe you know him and I want to keep my blog as annoymous as possible. But anyways he’s a DJ. Last night S and I met up with him at the Eldridge. It was a pretty slow night but it was kinda nice because him and I could just talk for a bit. It was actually really fun and he seems nice. Not like a douche like some DJs can be. He dresses nice too. Like a normal person. We talked for a long time. Then he texted me after I left to see if I wanted to have drinks near my apartment. I was actually still standing outside and gushing about my night to the secrity gaurd and pretended like I didnt get it. We were seriously outside 15 minutes talking about stuff.

The Eldridge and Bagetelle

Well last night we had plans to go to Tenjune followed by 1Oak with a new promoter who ended up being not so great. He walked in with out us then the door man claimed it was image girls only. But you is at Tenjune but MR GOOD-ON-PAPER. Eight million people and you will always run into the one you don’t want to see. He was with the new girl too. He saw me. But he didn’t say anything.

We decided to meet up with my friend M at Eldridge. His girlfriend works there although there was a private party and we had to sweet talk to go on. I have to say this is one of the coolest spots I’ve been too. Its super small. Like the size of my apartment. The coat check is literally a girl who comes up stairs and takes the coats and disappears down a stair case. The walls are exposed brick the bar is right when you walk in with the DJ booth pretty much attached.

It did end up being a party. It was someones birthday and they had bought all the tables pretty much. There are only about 8 tables. Over all the music is fantastic and it gives you a very small exclusive feel. Oh and did I mention the outside is disguised as a book store? That’s the best part!

I have to say it stung to see him tho. I know it shouldn’t but I had him in the back of my mind the whole time even tho I was having and absolute blast! Ugh I guess its like salt in a wound. But really what are the changes in a city this big?

Anyways…

Today we had brunch reservations for Bagatelle and I heard it was an amazing party. Well I get there and my reservation is “lost” and all they could offer was to “wait for a table” (we waited close to 2 hours). We each got a free mimosa also. Wow so impressed. We ended up spending $98 on mimosas.

I mean it really was extremely fun but I cannot believe they lost my reservation! I will talk more about this later…

Well a new cool spot I have discovered. Well not me. But my friend is there on Wednesdays so me and my friend S decided to come out.

I will start off that we actually just kinda snuck in with someone how had a table. They saw us walk in and said “come in with us!” and i think the door man gave rolled his eyes at us. Well thats how these hot spot work I guess.

When you walk in you walk into the coat check bascially. Then there are some velvet curtains THEN you actutualy get in. Its very nice. By the people who do green house so you know its fun. The lighting comes out of the ceiling which is amazing.

Very trendy/ pretty crowd. I love it and I look forward to going out next week.

So as you may or may not know I am from the midwest where things are…well…a little different…the majority of my friends are married or engaged or wanting to be one of the two. My mom got married at 29 so I really don’t see the rush, however most of my friends have young parents so I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

I personally don’t see myself married. Why? I don’t like the idea of having to live with someone ALL THE TIME and share a bed. Sure I liked sleeping over Mr Good-on-paper’s apartment but I got to get up and go home to my own apartment at the end of the day. I didn’t have to be with him ALL the time. I don’t know I don’t really think marriage is for me…

Heres the part which is going to make all the midwestern girls cry. Sure maybe someday I will want to be married but I know for a fact I absolutely never ever want children. Please don’t say “Oh you’ll change your mind” because I honestly do not think I ever well. I think I am missing a maternal gene. I have only held baby once, it was a 10 month old and she sat on my lap. I literally had no idea what to do. She started pulling my necklace so I took it off but then she started pulling my hair. The whole idea of children grosses me out. I don’t think little clothes and shoes are cute. I don’t want to be woken up at 4am for feedings. I don’t want to change diapers. I don’t want to push a stroller. I like my purse and I would prefer not to replace it with a diaper bag. I hate the sound of crying. And most of all I think the whole idea of being pregnant is repulsive! I don’t want something living inside of me feeding off of me. MOVING AROUND IN ME! Its just something I feel no desire to experience. I honestly think girl have babies now a days for all the wrong reason. To trap a man, to “have someone who will always need them”, because baby clothes are cute. There is so much more to a baby then little shoes and clothes…

I had to move away from the land of white picket fences and shattered dreams.

I will not stay home with a child while my husband goes to work and have to be a victim to his income.

What A lovely restaurant! I went on monday with my friend. We wanted to have a “fancy night out” since we are both single. It was very nice and delish.

Sunday we have reservations at Bagetelle for brunch yay!

Happy new year everyone! Do you know what my resolution is? NOT TO HAVE SEX WITH ANYONE I HAD SEX WITH IN 2009. Ok. Good. What did you do for new years. I strolled into greenhouse at at 2:45 and stayed till about 5:30. It was such a long yet really fun night. I love that place. And I am sorry to everyone who had tickets and didn’t get in but saw me sans tickets get in for free. I am really sorry.

My other new years resolution is to be more healthy. I am doing the special K challenge. It’s day 2 and I am already climbing the wall starving. I am going to the movies and I plan on eating pop corn WITH butter. Oops. Everyone keeps telling me I am thick. I don’t want to be thick! I want to be thin! my ass is one that only a black guy could love. oh well…

Today me and my sister and cousins having merry time at Melt. Yum Yum Yum. I look down and I have a missed call from a 646 number. Thinking its someone from my part time job needing a shift covered so I called back. Voice mails says “Lauren” or “Laura”. No biggie. Prob a girl from work.

So about 15 minutes ago I got a call again. Its the crazy girlfriend of a guy I met once!

Background to this store:

On Halloween, my friend and I couldn’t get into 1oak so while attempting to get a cab we met a guy going to Avenue who let us come in with him. I guess his friend had a HIGE table so we got some drinks and stuff. He was a nice guy. I got his number. Later he said he had a girlfriend I said no big deal I wasnt looking for a boyfriend just some new friends to go out with. Ok thats fine. On the occasion I would text him to see whats up. Two nights ago I he texts me to see if I was in town this weekend. I said no. We chat a little. I tell him how I got a gift certificate to the Bliss Spa tell him how I want a massage or some eyebrow waxes. Whatever. Last night I ask him if hes in town for NYE. He says hes going to Tampa.I tell him how I just want to get drunk and sleep alone. *laughing*. Whatever.

She calls me asking me who I am how I know him. I didnt even know his last name! How crazy crazy crazy.

Laura/Lauren if you are reading this…I don’t like your boyfriend. Sorry!
